The Insurgents are a group of people in Sonny 2 trying to find a cure for zombification in Utopia, who when attacked, fled to a hideout in Oberursel.
Background[]
They were a group trying to find a cure for Sonny's condition in Utopia who fled to Oberursel when their members started disappearing. At some point in time the group got tattoos in secret so they knew who they could trust.
The group included Roald and several others, all of whom were fighting against the Cult in the village as insurgents when Captain Hunt was sent to take them out.

Sonny and Veradux come across them while making their way towards Hew. After a brief battle, the Insurgents realize the two zombies are unlike the rest of their kind and put their weapons down. They ask the group for help with taking down the Cult that has taken over the village and in reward Roald would personally lead them to Hew. Roald becomes a member of Sonny's party and stays in it for the rest of the game.
After the Cult Leader, revealed to be Baron Brixius in disguise, is taken down, Roald fulfils his promise and guides Sonny to Hew.

No evidence has currently been given for how either Veradux or Felicity became zombies, the only known groups trying to find a cure for zombification were the Insurgents and the crew of White November, and both were attacked by the ZPCI, however due to the existence of intelligent zombies such as Felicity, Baron Brixius, Sonny and Veradux, sometime, one of the research teams were able to revive zombies at some point. It is possible that Felicity, Veradux, and Baron Brixius were revived by one of these teams.

Roald is one of the Insurgents, he becomes Sonny's ally due to an agreement that if Sonny and Veradux help the Insurgents defeat a cult, he would help them get to the Utopia.

This Insurgent appears as an ally of Roald, and after helping explain to Sonny and Veradux who they are, he is never seen again.
